Hi there! My name is Razvan Draghici. I am a developer, UI designer and scalability consultant from Toronto, Ontario. Co-founder of Wisecat Media Inc., I worked in a team of two developers to build secure and extendable Ruby on Rails web applications. Our shop follows an agile workfow that ensures proper time management, realistic estimates and deadlines. Over the course of two years I built RESTful web applications, tested for performance bottlenecks and deployed on fail-over and horizontally scalable web server setups.
Makazoo is a website that ofers free ad posting for textbook exchanges to students in Toronto. The website will feature Google books and Facebook integration. Most of the user actions are Ajax-powered, making Makazoo fun and easy to use. The existing Makazoo website is a prototype and was received very well in the Toronto university student’s community with over 200 books posted in less than a year. Special attention was dedicated to deployment and the web server confguration. Capistrano was used to automate version control and deployment. Lighttpd , Varnish and Thin clusters were used to prepare the website to handle up to 8000 requests / second.
